You cut to heal
But the thief got to steal
Your body has scars
Because your souls behind bars

Rejection came as a robber
To your heart to clobber
Black became the way
For your life charade

But wounds that heal
Are words spoken with love and appeal
The voice that represents
Gives the Way without bents

Your life has value
The One broken loves you
Taking thirty-nine stripes
His blood will wipe

Away the remains
Of brokenness and pains
Busting a jail break
Crushing the lying snake

Lift your heart high
Watch Him draw nigh
To restore every layer
To expel the slayer

Light is breaking in
Don’t you see it’s Him
He holds the keys
To set your soul free

Your heart cries why me
Why do You let it be
Confusion has its grip
That your mind can’t strip

Why won’t get the answer
It bounces around like a dancer
Come with fear and come with doubts
Come with anger and come with shouts


But open up inside
Be willing to humble pride
What is broken He will fix
Love is what’s His mix

His power will restore
All your soul and more
Darkness has to bow down
To the light of His crown

Jesus didn’t do the deal
But your heart He wants to seal
With love that never dies
And truth that stops the lies

Joy will enter in
Strength that hasn’t been
Laughter becomes a friend
Smiles replace the sin

A new child’s heart
Replaces the damaged part
How could I not see
His depths of love for me

A new day dawns
Hope and faith have spawned
Stuck in the loving tide
I’m part of His body, His bride

I find meaning everyday
As His Word I do say
Wholeness is setting in
And I can’t shake this grin

The old is gone
The new has come along
Life in Christ has me
That’s life eternally

Life that starts now
In His presence I will bow
Each step along this path
Has been joy that can’t be matched
