I realize that just in August I posted the video to the song "Healer" on my blog. It was written by Mike Guglielmucci of Planetshakers at the time. The song was released again on the new Hillsong album. It has been revealed that Guglielmucci, who himself said that this song was about his battle with cancer, faked for 2 years or so that he had cancer. If you google his name you can find out. There is an official press release and everything. I don't really care to go into the rest of the story, it's not the purpose of my blog.
So, I know about what happpened. The song is just straight from Scripture though and is an anointed song, period. It is still hard for me to understand how God uses even outright lies to touch people with His love and power. I'm glad, I'm not God. I guess everyone should be glad about that. My prayers go out to Mike G. Hopefully now is the point where his life can be put back together. These kind of stories I try to use as a tool to remind myself that I need God to search my heart and get rid of anything that's not pleasing in his sight. I don't think we should be "light" on sin, but I also don't think that we should shoot our wounded. When the world sees radical love (not cheap grace, maybe another post) that confronts the issues, has clear boundaries, and reaches all levels of brokenness, then they will see Jesus lifted up.

I have always felt that the song was an anointed song...it touches me deeply.
